WELCOME

The Department fo Behavioural Health Sciences (BHS) is a multidisciplinary clinical and psychological services at PunHlaing Siloam Hospital, Hlaing Thayar Township, Yangon for adolescents, adults, families, significant others and LGBTI communities affected by various emotional, behavioural, psychological and substance abuse and dependence and other addiction related problems and co-morbidities (associated mental and medical illnesses).

OUR STAFF

Dr ANILA PAUL MBBS. PG CertHsc, PDip, Rehab. MSCAS. Clinical Director, Department of Behavioural Health Sciences

Dr Anila is a medical doctor & trained certified therapist from NZ with extensive training from NZ, Australia, UK and USA and well experienced clinician in substance abuse, dependence and dual diagnosis (Mental Health and Addictions) and problem gambling. She experienced in managing trauma care, depression and other psychological problems including domestic violence issues and anxiety. She has experiance in managing Methadone services and medical management of addictions and mental health. She is also a medical educator and was associate dean of student affairs at UPH Medical School, Indonesia and worked for IOM (International Organization of Migration) based in Indonesia managing refugee health issues. PROGRAMME PACKAGES

Serenity Package: This is an intensive outpatient community based rehabilitation program for Adults that follows the Matrix model. It is for clients and familes affected by Alcohol and Other Drugs. This program requires all clients attend prior assessment and counselling and prepartion before entry into this COMPULSORY program. Program is abstinence based for 4 -6 weeks 5 days a week for 8 hours. Families are included once a week. This program helps you to gain insight into the addictions,recovery and relapse prevention. This is a closed group. All groups are in English and Interpreters are available if needed. Prices range from MMK 500,000 - 800,000 per person.

Beautiful Mind Program: We offer programs for clients and families affected by mild to moderate mental health disorders such as Depression, Psychosis, Stress and Anxiety, Biploar Disorders. This program provides support for clients and families, education on these disorders and patient needs and treatment goals. It is a structured 2 hour program held once a week on Saturday’s. Prior booking is essential. Group is opened to maximum 12 per group. All groups are in English. Interpreters are available if needed. Prices not established.

Tobacco Cessation clinics: Assessment , Counselling and Nicotine replacement therapies are available for clients who wish to Quit smoking. Prices range from MMK 1,100,000 - 1,700,000 for local and foreigners for 8 weeks, includes medications and behaviour support and follow ups.

Safe Skies Program: This is a Health and Wellness program that incorporates Alcohol and Drug Education, Drug and Alcohol Management plan, Rehabilitation and Reintergation for Airlines groups. This is also available for business sectors and we offer Employee Assistance scheme (EAP) for employees and their families.

Family Wellness Programmes: A support group program for Families Only affected by Mental Illness, Alcohol and Other Drugs. It is an open group 1.5 hours per week for 6 weeks. We provider psychoeducation, management of crisis, medication management and management of co-dependency issues and other related topics.Prices range from MMK 70,000 - 110,000 per person.

After care programme: The after care programme is an open group for Relapse prevention and management .It is for 1.5 hours per week for 6 weeks. Prices range from MMK 70,000 - 110,000 per person.

CONSULATION CHARGES FOR ADULT SERVICES

  • Consultation - MMK 8,000 - 12,000 per person per session + MMK 4,000 - 6,000 facility fees
  • Assessment - MMK 16,000 - 36,000 per person per session + MMK 4,000 - 6,000 facility fees
  • Individual Counselling - MMK 24,000 - 36,000 per person per session + MMK 4,000 - 6,000 facility fees

REFERRAL PROCESS

We accept self-referrals, and referrals from schools, physicians, psychiatrists, paediatricians family members, schools, educational psychologists and other health professionals and significant others such as spouses, friends etc. Online referrals are accepted.

INFORMATION FOR CLIENTS & FAMILIES

Please arrive at the Department of BHS at least 15 mins prior to appointment for registration.

Please inform your clinician/ psychologists if you are not able to attend your appointment within 2 days to avoid “CANCELLATION FEE.”

Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment so you will have a full session with your health professional.

Please enquire about oue fee structure before you schedule an appointment.

At the event of dealing with crisis situation, we may be late to attend your appointment. So please have some patience as we deal with clients who are in crisis.

We may have our telephone with us at times if we are dealing with complicated clients. We will let you know if that happens.
